Philly Nurses Granted More Educational Possibilities

Nurses in Philadelphia are benefiting from a grant aimed at helping them attain more education while working full-time. reports that the District 1199C Training and Upgrading Fund received a four year grant worth $3 million in March of 2012. With the grant money, the Philadelphia region is helping the unemployed and underemployed. The region hopes to put 142 people through the program, helping them to be able to retain employment as a result of more education. The grant pays for up to 50% of each person’s wages and helps them with training at a cost of about $21,000 per job. Read more here: Program gets nurses in school and back to work
